This gathering enables the family to offer prayers and reflect upon the life of the deceased, and it may include Sacred Scriptures, rosary, and eulogy or family sharing.
A final tribute for the deceased, we entrust the soul to God, bless the grave when designated for final internment, and use prayers of petition and commendation, in accord with the wishes of the family. Scripture reading and eulogy may also be appropriate. Military honors may be added, if appropriate, for a veteran.
The family and friends of the deceased gather to remember their loved one, combining prayers, readings, Scriptures, and sacred hymns or music together with fondest recollections or eulogy.
Dealing with the loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult tasks that an individual or family must face. As a competent and organized minister, I respectfully console the grieving families and friends while assisting them in preparing a funeral or memorial service. My skills as a minister for over thirty years qualifies me to be sensitive to the needs of grieving families and to communicate with them in a nurturing and compassionate manner. I am also able to share my insights from my past experiences as a Hospital Chaplain, Minister and Pastor. My knowledge of Ecumenical and Inter-religious dimensions enables me to be conversant with different religious customs and traditions.
This awareness is what makes me patient and responsive in helping families who may have very different cultural and/ or religious backgrounds. Using contemporary language in a dignified and prayerful manner, I assist the funeral director and staff to achieve the wishes of each family, to honor the memory and legacy of their loved one.
Fluent in Spanish, I can provide a Spanish or bilingual funeral/memorial service. I also provide grief counseling for individuals or families. My services are available throughout the Orange County area and portions of Los Angeles County.
